I attended a funeral yesterday for an old friend. He was just 50 years old. Wow...another mortality check! I know it's been said thousands of times, but life is so precious and you just never know when your number is going to come up. His name is Billy and the thing I remember most is that he always treated me like I was special. As it turns out, he made all of our friends feel special also. When Billy greeted me, I might as well have been Brad Pitt or something! That's just how special he'd make you feel!
All of my friends got together yesterday afternoon to celebrate Billy's life. His brother Ken was the guest of honor. We all toasted shots of Jack Daniels and had a great party that lasted into the evening.
We should all stop taking our friends' and family's lives for granted (or our own life for that matter) because as sure as shit, the end will come sooner than you think.

Snow Day
Ok this is my first attempt at blogging. I'm certain that no one cares what I have to say. I don't even care what I have to say. Anyway, we're experiencing a Level 3 snow emergency today and I didn't have to work. It's a kind of snow day for adults. You can hear the kids outside excited about sledding, making snowmen, all that winter fun.
Although there were plenty of constructive things I might have done today, I chose to just run a couple of errands and goof off. I had the TV news on for a while and it's quite depressing. I've come to the conclusion that none of our brilliant leaders knows what the hell to do to aid our (seriously) slumping economy. Somebody had better steer this sinking ship or we could all be in the Soup Line in a few months.
Well, thanks to anyone who might read this. Perhaps next time I'll have something a bit more interesting to say. Until then, goodbye!!!
